On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man to set foot on the Moon as he delivered the famous words: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The Davidson College Physics Department invites you to join us for a celebration of the 50th anniversary of this historic event on the evening of Saturday, July 13, 2019. Bring your little space cadets to have some fun with Moon-themed activities, learn about the Moon and the Apollo 11 landing, stargaze, and photograph the Moon through our telescopes!
The stargazing and lunar photography portion of the event is weather permitting, but all other activities will take place regardless of weather. This outing is for children with their families. The minimum age is 4 years old, with activities geared toward children 12 and under. Please, no dogs. The group size is limited, so pre-registration is required. See below.![large telescope]()
